Little South Update
As clean as I’ve seen the run… great level… surging 85/90 on the gauge at the top and splashing over the 2nd marker rock at the bottom.
We put on at 6:15… probably close to the daily peak… and ran it in under 2 hours… but if the wheels fall off the wagon in there it can take a lot longer… difficult river-side terrain and a gnarly walk out should it come to that… I’ve been with groups that have taken 5 hours, other’s have overnighted…
Only one real wood issue… the tree/rock sieve 3/4 down the bigger rapid near the end is horrible with lots of water pushing left into it. Stay right!

Tonight: Isolated showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. West southwest wind between 3 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Nothing remarkable at JWR- overnight low of 33F, still have 67″ snow with 39″ water equivalent. That’s a lot of boatin!
Sunday 7/12 Upper Canyon Flows
At 9am:
Joe Wright – Medium (Carnito boof covered by an inch or two)
Big South – Rock gauge several inches underwater
Spencer Gauge 3.25 (~4.25 on Sportsman gauge with nothing coming through the tunnel)
Saturday evening water was significantly higher. Waterline on river left acros from new gauge in Boneyard rapid indicated at least 18-24 inches.
