I have posted some information and photos of Poudre Park and the areas below it on mountainbuzz.com in the “Poudre Canyon and fire” thread. We’ll post more photos as we acquire them.
Pine View was 2.0 today…
…no matter, Riv is closed. Sorry for the silence. The last 96 hours have been a whirl wind. Fire crews have done an amazing job protecting life and property. Mother Nature is once again showing us who is in charge. A lesson any of us who have been in the drink unintentionally know.
Your next visit up here will be different. Landscape has changed. Last night I watched Pine View river left burn…tonight, river right along the road. And that’s a minor change of landscape.
Kudos to the many firefighters who have done everything they can to stop this angry fire. We have firefighters from all over the country here protecting our Beloved Poudre the best they can. Many from neighboring districts that are all too familiar with fire like this, like Lefthand Canyon, Lyons, Boulder, Longmont…the list goes on! Thank you to you all for your support in this fight.
If I am able, I will tll you as soon as the Riv is open for boating and fishing.More when available.
Take care and be safe,
Camp Falbo

2012 Kayak Video with Ben Stookesberry at New Belgium
Join Rocky Mountain adventures and expedition kayaker Ben Stookesberry at New Belgium Brewery on Wednesday June 13 for his presentation of photos and film of a year of first descents from California, Brazil, and Africa. Special guest and Boulder local Forrest Noble will join Ben to present photos from their resent ground breaking descent of the Marble Fork of the Kaweah river in Sequoia national park where the pair used big wall climbing technique to descend one of the most daunting stretches of river ever attempted by kayak. This year will mark a decade of sold out presentations by Ben with Rocky Mountain Adventures and New Belgium Brewery so reserve your ticket early. Admission includes a happy hour beer sampling prior to the show. See you there.
