Strainer Hazard PSA x 2

June 6, 2024 By Camp Falbo

There are two MAJOR strainer hazards (that we know of) up in Rustic. And wood has been floating by Camp Falbo all day.

Hazard #1: Directly under Stupid Bridge (MM 93), which is between Dadd Gulch and Indian Meadows. There is a gigantic root ball wedged under the bridge, center/center-left. Pic is attached. The bridge has two yellow signs that read “LOW BRIDGE”, one large, and one small. It is directly behind the smaller one.

Hazard #2: At the beginning of the White Mile, on the Sleeping Elephant run, around MM85.3(ish) there are logs strewn across the Riv. There are two narrow runnable channels as of 2 hours ago, one along river left, and one just right of the two gigantic boulders in the middle of the stream. This one can’t be scouted, as it’s on private land. It’s the two huge boulders that split the stream at the top of the White Mile. As of two hours ago, either hug river left shore, or aim at the boulders and scoot just right of the downstream one.

As I said before, wood be passing me casa all day… so any of this can change at any moment, well, except the root ball under stupid bridge. That sucker looks like he’s sticking around for a while.
