With between a foot and 18″ of snow May 1st in Poudre Park, our snowpack has to be looking better…
Pine View 0.9 at 0615
Pine View is at 0.9 at 0615 this morning. Currently 43˚F. The river is flowing brown like chocolate. And this is to be expected for a while. I figure, once we get to 2 on the rock, the run off will take most of the “ash bars” and sediment deposits that were left last fall from the banks of the Riv. Then it should clear up until the rains come in.
Today’s Wx: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. West northwest wind 9 to 14 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
0.5 ft of chocolatey fun at 11am
ok, it sure doesn’t smell nor taste like chocolate but sure looks like it. solid 0.5 this morning at 11am.
Don’t forget to check the seaman outflow when reading the canyon mouth gauge at this time of year.

SWE 81% of average and climbing
Time for a little stoke…
This latest round of storms is doing great things to our snowpack… see Joe Wright SWE plot. Forecast for tonight/tomorrow is another 8-16″ (another 1″ of SWE) which would take us to 85%, and we have a moist NW pattern on this system’s heels. Season saving!
