Ok Ok… I said the last one would be it. But it came back up to 1 and a few companies are still running.

Today’s expected Wx: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Patchy smoke before 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: A slight chance of thunderstorms before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between 9pm and 10pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 59. East southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

This very well be the last Rock Report of 2020. Unless something changes dramatically.

Currently 57˚F, very smoky and slightly breezy. I have no updates on the fire, except that it is still burning, Hwy 14 is still closed between Rustic and Walden and it is very smokey here at Camp Falbo.

We have a major wildfire in the upper canyon that started last night. Road is closed at Rustic. Lower canyon is still open for recreation. But recreating in the lower canyon is not recommended. Expect heavy emergency vehicle traffic all day. And very smokey conditions with limited visibility. If you have health issues- just stay out of the canyon. If you don’t need to be in the canyon, please skip that planned trip for the time being. Also expect heavy air traffic.

Current conditions. 62 and very Smokey. Expected highs in mid 90’s and windy.

It’s getting dark in the mornings. I couldn’t tell if it was .8 or .9- so I split the difference.

Currently 55˚F, smoke hazy and calm.
