Today’s expected Wx: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 55. South southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable.

Nothing like an early Rock Report. And Peak on July 1 (so far, and well… fourth peak?). I posted an Urgent Safety Message a bit ago. Dangerous LOG on Screaming Left, a.k.a. Turkey Bend on the Filter Plant. (On that note, the trio of logs that were hanging out on the top rock of the Golf Course are no longer there… Where could they be?)

Additional- The individual who went missing on Saturday is still not found. Here is the message again: BOLO- (Message from LCES) There is a missing male in the River from yesterday. Last seen point was in the neighborhood of Tunnel Rapid through Ding Dong. 57 Year old caucasion male, 6’1″, balding. No PFD (and by this point most likely wearing no clothing- so hard to see.) If you find, and the body is in a secure location, please do not approach, just call 911 from nearest phone (Mish, Columbine, PCVFD Station 1) and give accurate location description (remember Emergency Services may not know rapid names, so Hwy 14 MM# and/or known locations such as Ouzel Picnic Area, may be best descriptors). If the body is mobile, and if you can safely approach, please secure him, and then call 911. As always- Please Be Safe.

There is a log jammed in the main channel of Turkey Bend, also known as Screaming Left, and Turkey Elbow, on the Filter Plant. This log is vertical and described as mid channel and/or on the right- directly in the wave train. All boaters need to take a hard LEFT LINE in this feature.

(For those not familiar, this is the first 90˚ left turn on the Filter Plant Run approx 1/4 mile below the stairs at the original FP Put In.
