I just personally checked out the strainer- it is still in the middle of the run, hooked up on the rock we usually aim for just right of. The strainer is 20 feet above the Bridge to Nowhere. This is the second bridge in the Poudre Park Run, the one after the Hewlett Gulch Bridge. It is also just above Columbine Lodge.
The strainer is a bit hard to see, as the branches have either broken off, or the log has rotated with the longer branches facing down, upstream. The log is evenly balanced on the rock in the middle of the run, where we normally skirt just to the right of the rock. There is a clear and open channel (as of NOON on June 19, 2016) on the river right. There’s an open area at least 20 feet wide from river right shore to the end of the log. Kayakers can probably go around it river left as well.
Boat Safe! Please don’t attempt to go over (or under) that log.
