FoCo Whitewater Park

June 17, 2013 By frenchy

We need to unite and show our support for the river revitalization in down town. we need people to make sure the city understands that a “tubing or float park” is not the same thing as a Whitewater Recreation Area. We’ve been working to educate the city and those involved, but we are now at a point where we need to show major public support for a Kayak Whitewater Park downstream of the college bridge. The city is already going to do work in the river in this area and could incorporate a Whitewater park if pushed a little. There will be a major positive impact economically from a true whitewater park that will not occur from a tubing park, however we need your support.

Please add June 26th from 4-7 pm on your calendar and plan to support the construction of a recreational area in our downtown for children and adults alike!

also if you do not have the time for the meeting you can contact your city council (very easy)

please call, email or postcard them with a message of your support for a White water recreation area. Example text below:

————–

To my local district member,

I simply wanted to express my desire for a Kayak Whitewater Park downstream of the college bridge over a tubing or float park. The creation of a Whitewater Park will not only improve our town and community, but will also bring in revenue from events and tourism.

Please represent my voice supporting a Whitewater Kayak Park to the city.

best,
